There was a great turnout to hear the team from Metrix share how they have spent the past year redefining their performance consulting model and adapting ADDIE to a digital world where technology is an essential ingredient in any learning solution. The "tapas" refers to a cross-section of the research various members of the Metrix team undertook to transform the consulting model - from defining the essential knowledge the team needed to practical issues like MDM (mobile device management) and MAM (mobile app management) as well as practical examples of outcomes such as responsive web design and gamification.
Our usual eLATED "reporters" were not on hand so apologies for not having a video clip, but we were provided with great food-for-thought on two fronts: Process and content.
Metrix CEO and founder Susan Caldwell kicked-off with a snapshot of the model and then let the team members take the lead in a rapid-fire round of short presentations that gave great insight into the collective learning experience they all underwent and the "whole-greater-than-the-sum-of-its-parts" outcome. Wrapping it all together was a great gamification example that had us using QRC readers on our mobile devices to scan codes on our name tags that linked back to information on the new Metrix website - and example of "responsive web design" that provides a consistent experience across various devices and platforms. Game winners went home with their very own Mr. Potato Head!
Our sincere thanks to Metrix for a great event!
